Shawn Lyons has been named the new baseball coach at New Palestine High School. Lyons had been the top assistant to Allen Cooper and the team's pitching coach since 2002, and had been a part of the program since 1997. New Palestine has won more than 300 games and six sectional and three regional titles during his career as an assistant, including a the 2004 Class 3A state title and the 2003 3A runner-up spot.
