Remembering Tim Adams

It is with a very heavy heart today that we announce the passing of Tim Adams. Tim and I started CCSN two years ago, and we've worked together as broadcasters for four years. Coach A lived a life serving people -- whether it be his wife, daughters and grandchildren, the members of the churches he pastored, the students in his social studies classes at Mt. Vernon, the football players he coached over 27 years at MV and Eastern Hancock or promoting the many people who played Indiana high school football, he loved to serve others.

I'll never forget the first time Coach A and I drove to Carmel High School four years ago to broadcast a football game -- he had just retired from teaching and coaching at MVHS, I had just moved on from years of being a newspaper reporter. We didn't quite know what to expect, and it felt like we'd been broadcasting games for years. His commentary was insightful, humorous at times, and hopefully conveyed how much fun we were having and how much we loved the game. Two years ago, CCSN was the brainchild of Coach A, and began as a way to promote Hancock County sports by filling a void of broadcasting live sporting events. Judging by our listener numbers and positive feedback from you, it has been a smashing success.

He had a vision to expand our coverage of Hancock County sports, and we were working together to lay the groundwork for it -- and in the future, we will be committed to carrying out that vision.

We in the CCSN family have lost a friend. I've also lost a mentor. The one thing I always looked forward to on a Friday night was meeting Tim, driving to a game together and having long talks about football, family, faith, students, everything. Coach Adams was a mentor to me in so many ways, and I will miss his wisdom, advice and friendship.

Coach Adams loved to share his faith, and tell others about what Christ had done for him. I know that somewhere today, Coach A met his Maker and was told, "well done, my good and faithful servant."
