Saturday results

Eastern Hancock continued its roll at the end of the regular season, winning its 10th straight game Saturday night by beating Hagerstown 65-54 on the road. The Royals finish the regular season 17-3 -- one of their best seasons in school history. Dustin Smith had 22 points -- including a perfect 11-of-11 from the free-throw line -- and Jared Pyle scored 20 and grabbed 12 rebounds. Steven Stunda had seven points and eight boards, while Zach Kissick scored 11. EH led 22-13 after a quarter and led at every quarter break thereafter. It's the second-best regular season in EHHS history, according to EHHoops.com.

New Palestine closed the regular season on a high note, as the Dragons beat Greenwood 63-58. NP finishes the regular season with a 9-11 mark and snaps a three-game skid in a busy end-of-season stretch.

Swimming results

Greenfield-Central's 200 freestyle relay team advanced to the second day of the IHSAA State Finals by placing 13th in the preliminary round Friday night.

That guarantees the Cougars will come home with points from the state meet. The team of Patrick Stutz, Bryan Forbes, James Young and Austin Wilburn beat their seed time by 76 hundredths of a second and came home in 1:27.62, placing 13th out of 32 teams.

That was the only local team to advance past Friday's state meet prelims.

G-C's 200 medley relay team of Forbes, Jon McCormick, Young and Wilburn had the only other top-20 finish in the county, finishing in 1:40.01, two-tenths of a second ahead of seed time.

Individually for the Cougars, Wilburn was 25th in the 50 free (22.12, .21 ahead of seed), Young 29th in the 100 butterfly (54.46), Forbes 29th in the 200 IM (2:01.66) and 31st in the 100 backstroke (57.58) and McCormick was 31st in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.50).

For New Palestine, the 200 free relay team of Jake Greig, Grant Gish, Sam Baker and Phil Webster finished 26th (1:30.36). The same quartet was 28th in the 400 free relay (3:20.37). Greig placed 31st in the 100 freestyle (48.75).

Mt. Vernon junior David Cochran will compete in the diving prelims Saturday morning.

Marauders win 3rd straight

Mt. Vernon is on a roll going into the sectional, winning three straight games after tonight's 47-36 victory over Yorktown.

MV had two runs in the game -- an 8-0 spurt led by Quinn Williams in the second quarter that put the Marauders up 14-7, and a 16-3 run in the third spanning into the fourth that was keyed by Corbin Bundy's two 3-pointers and a couple of baskets each from Alex Payne and Anthony Burnett, which put MV up 36-23. Junior guard Seth Cook tried to get Yorktown back in it -- and did the first time, hitting 5 3s and scoring 17 points, but the Marauders had too much firepower in the end.

On Senior Night, Williams scored 16 points -- hitting five shots and 6-of-10 from the line -- while Bundy scored 12, half of which came from beyond the arc. Senior Darrion Colbert also started and played significant minutes. Payne had eight points for the Marauders.

MV is now 7-13, but has won three straight and ties Shelbyville for fifth in the tough Hoosier Heritage Conference with a 3-4 mark. Yorktown finishes 6-14 and plays Muncie South Tuesday night in the Muncie sectional.

MV does not yet know its first-round foe -- the Marauders will play next Friday against either No. 6 Rushville or Shelbyville in the second semifinal at New Palestine. The host Dragons will meet Hamilton Heights to start Friday's festivities at 6 p.m. We will broadcast both games on HancockCountySports.com.

The other two games scheduled tonight will be played Saturday -- Greenwood at New Palestine at 7:30 p.m. and Eastern Hancock at Hagerstown at 8 p.m.

The boys swimming State Finals begins tonight, and Hancock County will be well-represented.

Of course, a lot of that representation will be from Greenfield-Central, which is coming off its first sectional championship in 26 years.

G-C will have five student-athletes competing in seven different events, with senior Bryan Forbes competing in four (200 medley relay, 200 free relay, 200 IM, 100 backstroke) and junior James Young in three (200 MR, 200 FR, 100 butterfly). Junior Jon McCormick (200 MR, 100 breaststroke) and junior Austin Wilburn (200 MR, 200 FR) will compete in two events, while sophomore Patrick Stutz rounds out the 200 free relay.

New Palestine is represented by the 400 free relay team of freshman Grant Gish, senior Phil Webster, junior Jake Greig and junior Sam Baker and the 200 free relay team consisting of the same quartet, with Greig also competing in the 100 freestyle. The 200 free relay team finished second to G-C in the sectional, but advanced to state on time.

Mt. Vernon's David Cochran will also be competing in the event in diving.

The State Finals begins at 6 p.m. tonight at the IUPUI Natatorium with swimming prelims. Diving prelims are at 9 a.m. Saturday, with the finals and consolation finals in swimming at 1 p.m.

Here are the local seeds (top 8 to finals, 9-16 to consolation finals)

Cougars win, school out today

Greenfield-Central rallied in the fourth quarter to beat Knightstown 38-37 Thursday night in the Cougars' regular-season finale.

G-C trailed 13-2 after a quarter and 24-16 going into the fourth before catching fire. Josh Mayes scored 12 points and Derek Conley 10 for the Cougars, who finish the regular season with a 9-11 mark -- their best in seven years.

The Cougars open sectional play Wednesday against Pendleton Heights (16-5) in the 4A New Castle sectional.

Tonight's games are likely postponed, as all four Hancock County school corporations are out of school today.

However, because the Mt. Vernon-Yorktown game is a conference game, there is still a chance it will be played. MV's administration is currently in the process of making that decision. If the game is on, we will have a broadcast.

Tuesday hoops

Nearly half of Mt. Vernon's games have been decided by one possession this year. Tuesday, the Marauders took it to another level. MV beat Westfield 74-73 in double OT Tuesday night for the Marauders' second straight win. Quinn Williams scored 41 points and hit a shot late in the second OT to win it. Anthony Burnett scored 12. MV is now 6-13 heading into Friday's season finale against Yorktown, which we will broadcast on www.hancockcountysports.com.

New Palestine dropped an 85-78 OT decision to Shelbyville on Tuesday night. The Dragons trailed by as many as 18 points -- but scored 51 second-half points to knot the game and send it into OT on Reid Clark's putback with 2.8 seconds left in regulation. Josh Penley had 27 points and six assists, Clark nine rebounds and Justin Ikerd 17 points for the Dragons. Shelby's Patrick Ellis scored 25, and helped take the game over in OT, in which the Bears outscored NP 17-10. Dragons now 8-10 and finish HHC play with a 1-6 mark.

Eastern Hancock keeps rolling, improving to 16-3 with a 73-61 Senior Night victory over Morristown. EH jumped out to an early double-digit lead and never looked back in the victory. Zach Kissick led EH with 21 points, Dustin Smith added 18.

Greenfield-Central fell 51-40 to Connersville on the Cougars' Senior Night. The Cougars are now 8-11 heading into Thursday's season finale at Knightstown.

Tuesday night boys hoops

The final week of the regular season elicits some Tuesday night games

First off, the marquee game of the night:
Morristown (9-9) at Eastern Hancock (15-3): It's senior night for one of the winningest classes in EH history. Dustin Smith, Zach Kissick, Steven Stunda and Austin Lee are four senior starters who have put up some huge numbers and win totals. They were part of a sectional championship team as freshmen, and are the favorites to do so as seniors, but their last home game will see another star in Morristown's Dylan Langkabel. Should be a great matchup.

Connersville (7-14) at Greenfield-Central (8-10): Fresh off an overtime victory over Delta that sealed third place in the HHC for the Cougars, they host senior night for Jordan Conley, Josh Mayes and Nathan Weir. A victory would give G-C its best season since going 15-6 in 2003-04, a very talented squad featuring Mark and Paul Galbraith, Josiah Sears, Ryan Grinstead and Keegan Carmony, and one that nearly knocked off eventual 3A champion Chatard in the sectional. Connersville will be a tough out, with Zach Miller leading the way. The two teams compete in the same sectional. Our friends at WIFE will be providing a live broadcast.

Westfield (7-11) at Mt. Vernon (5-13): The Marauders have another tough tune-up, but are fresh off a conference victory over New Palestine last week, thanks to a 27-point night from senior guard Quinn Williams. Westfield has dropped three of four, but the one win in that stretch was against HHC team New Palestine.

New Palestine (8-9) at Shelbyville (12-6): This game was supposed to be played Feb. 4, but weather postponed it to this week. It's the final conference game for both teams before heading up U.S. 52 to NP next week for the sectional. Both teams have been up and down this season, and both of these teams' meetings last year were decided on last-second shots. When they play, it'll be an up-and-down game. Shelby has won eight of its last 10, but the two losses were to HHC teams Greenfield-Central and Delta. The Dragons won't have much time to rest -- on Wednesday, they play another make-up game at Mooresville (10-8) on Wednesday night. You can listen to the NP-Shelby game on WSVX.

Marauders fall in regional final

Mt. Vernon's dream season came to an end on the Marauders' home floor Saturday night at the hands of an underrated, but very strong Roncalli squad 52-36.

Roncalli was led by freshman Elizabeth Bowers, who scored 19 points and helped key a 23-7 stretch in the middle quarters that turned a 10-all tie into a 33-17 lead for the Rebels midway through the third. Roncalli started the second half with a 14-2 spurt, and then fended off every Marauder advance from there.

Freshman guard Kelli Kirkhoff scored 13 points and was the team's floor general. Bridget Perry, the Rebels' leading scorer and a sophomore, had 11. Coco Clark -- the veteran of the starting five as a junior -- scored nine, while Katie Brewer controlled the glass. Roncalli starts three six-footers, and it showed, as the Rebels blocked several Marauder shots.

MV was led by 10 points from Kayla Negley and nine from Jessica Brown. Rachel Houck added eight points, including two 3s in the third quarter to help dent into the Rebels' lead. But the Marauders just didn't have enough to come all the way back.

The Marauders' season ends with a 21-2 mark, the HHC, Hancock County and Hamilton Heights sectional championships. They deserved every accolade they got -- but just ran into a strong team on Saturday night.

After knocking off #2, Roncalli will face #1 Evansville Memorial in next week's semistate.

In boys basketball -- yes, there were a couple of local boys games tonight -- Eastern Hancock rolled past Tri 84-60. The Royals are now 15-3 heading into the season's final week.

Marauders advance

Mt. Vernon beats Lebanon 51-36 in the semifinal game today to advance to tonight's regional final. MV and Lebanon were tied 24-24 after a close first half, but the Marauders got six quick points from Makenzi Reasor and clamped down their defense in the second half. MV started the second half on a 12-0 run and held Lebanon without a field goal for the first 11 minutes of the second half.

Typical balanced effort for MV: Rachel Houck scored 11 points, Reasor had 10, Jessica Brown had nine including a big 3 right at the end of the third quarter, Anna Olson had eight, plus a zillion rebounds and deflections, Kayla Negley scored seven plus added some phenomenal defense.

Lexi Reese had 11 first-half points for Lebanon. MV held the Tigers' top two scorers -- Harvard-bound Alison Curtis and younger sister Katie Curtis -- in single digits, and with two total field goals between them. They had been averaging 29 ppg coming into the game.

MV will play Roncalli (18-5) in tonight's regional championship game at 7:40 p.m. Roncalli won today's afternoon game 59-38 over Madison, leading from wire-to-wire. Sophomore guard Bridget Perry scored 22 points for Roncalli to lead all scorers. It should be a close, interesting matchup between two strong teams with big inside presence. Join Andrew & Chris at 7:40 p.m. for the play-by-play.

Friday night hoops

Tonight was a big night for Mt. Vernon, as Quinn Williams helped carry the Marauders in the second half, but he had a lot of support in a 49-44 victory over New Palestine.

MV has played close games all year and often come out on the short end, so this was a big victory, moving the Marauders to 5-13 on the year. NP fell to 8-9 after the loss.

Williams hit 8-of-12 after halftime and scored 21 of his 27 points after the break. He also was 9-of-10 from the line. He helped lead the Marauders back from a four-point halftime deficit, and a deficit that was as large as seven in the first half. He scored MV's first 12 fourth-quarter points, and helped spark a 15-4 third quarter that gave MV a seven-point edge going into the final eight minutes.

Stephen Turner (10 points) and C.J. Coleman (9 points) also had strong nights for the Marauders. Taylor Rainey (13 points), Reid Clark (11 points) and Josh Penley (10 points) led the Dragons in a losing effort.

MV shot 44% in the second half, while NP hit just 21% from the floor.

Both teams are next in action Tuesday night: MV vs. Westfield, NP at Shelbyville.

Greenfield-Central 56, Cambridge City Lincoln 43: Nice bounce-back win on the road for the Cougars, who improve to 7-10 on the season with three games remaining against Connersville and Knightstown next week after facing Delta Saturday night. Delta knocked off Shelbyville on Friday, making the G-C/Delta game a battle for third place in the HHC. Winner gets third. Loser gets fourth -- either to themselves or potentially tied with Shelby.

Saturday boys hoops: Delta (13-5) at G-C (7-10); Tri (2-15) at EH (14-3).

Of course, our attention is turning to girls hoops. Follow us for Twitter updates during the Roncalli-Madison game, and then we will be on LIVE with the Mt. Vernon-Lebanon game at approximately 11:20 p.m. If MV wins, we will be on for the regional final at 7:40 p.m.

MV has won 16 consecutive home games, and won the only regional it has played on its home floor in 2005. MV is 38-4 the last two seasons, and was ranked No. 1 for much of the year.
  • MV rallied from double-digit second-half deficit to beat Hamilton Heights in the sectional title game, led by 8-of-10 FT shooting from Jessica Brown, who scored 17 points. Six-foot freshman post Erica Moore had 19 and 11 boards and sophomore Rachel Houck (15 points, 5 3s) and senior Kayla Negley (14 points, 7 assists) also had big nights.

Notes
  • Won Sagamore Conference title with perfect 7-0 mark.

  • In the sectional final against North Montgomery, Lexi Reese scored 13 points and Katie Curtis -- Alison's younger sister -- scored 11. Reese is the team's third-leading scorer at 9.3 ppg.
  • Katie Curtis is the assist person. Had career high 15 helpers (and 15 points) against Southmont in the sectional opener. She is the second-leading scorer at 12.4 ppg and averages a shade under six assists per game.
GAME 1

The road here: Beat South Dearborn 68-43; Greensburg 48-38 and Scottsburg 65-63.
Notes
  • Madison's nine losses are the most of any team remaining in the tourney.
  • Madison is one of three Hoosier Hills Conference teams remaining in the tourney, joining Columbus East and Jeffersonville. The smallest school in the Hoosier Hills, Madison finished 2-5 in league play.

BIG weekend coming up

Big weekend coming up for local basketball teams, and for our broadcast crew. After an ice and schedule-induced two-week hiatus from broadcasting, we're back over the online airwaves this weekend with tons of basketball.

Our schedule:
Friday night: Boys hoops: Mt. Vernon vs. New Palestine, 7:10 p.m.
Saturday: Girls hoops: Mt. Vernon vs. Lebanon, 11:20 a.m. Should the Marauders win, we'll be on with the regional title game at 7:40 p.m.

LISTEN LIVE LINK

Let's look at the weekend boys matchups first:
Friday's games (both 7:30 p.m.)
Mt. Vernon (4-13) at New Palestine (8-8):
Two teams who have been in a bit of a rebuilding phase this year have a big game this Friday. Potential sectional opponents, the Marauders and Dragons have met twice a year for the last seven seasons, but this is their first meeting. NP had a three-game winning streak snapped Tuesday in a 67-56 loss to Westfield, in which Taylor Rainey scored 21 points. MV has had a knack for playing close games -- prior to dropping back-to-back games to Marion County powers Lawrence Central and Warren Central within the last week, the Marauders had played five straight one-possession games. NP has had a knack for doing the same -- the Dragons have played four OT games this season. Expect a good game with a big crowd and two outstanding coaches. We're excited to be bringing it to you!

Greenfield-Central (6-10) at Cambridge City Lincoln (2-15): The Cougars stayed in the HHC hunt until falling to Rushville on Tuesday night, but they've already clinched their best season since 2006-07. They'll be heavily-favored to do the same on Friday night.

Saturday's games (all 7:30 p.m.)
Delta (12-5) at Greenfield-Central (6-10):
This game was initially scheduled for Feb. 4, but ice storms got in the way. This is a big game for both teams, as G-C is currently 4-2 in HHC play and in third place between co-champs Rushville and Pendleton Heights. Delta is 3-2 in league play. Should the Eagles beat Shelbyville on Friday, this will be a matchup to decide who finishes third and fourth in the conference. Delta has won five of its last six.

Tri (2-14) at Eastern Hancock (14-3):
The Royals are rolling, having been perfect in 2011 since dropping back-to-back games in the Hancock County Tournament, and a big reason why is their multi-pronged scoring attack, led by senior Dustin Smith. He scored 23 points in a 36-point victory over Alexandria on Tuesday. This game was initially scheduled for Feb. 4, but was postponed twice due to ice and snow storms.

Tuesday boys games

Andrew Smith had a great time filling in for our friend Bill Ludlow and and sitting in the sidekick chair with Keith Meyers on the HCSNRadio.com broadcast of Horizon Christian's 82-45 victory over Colonial Christian tonight (and one of Horizon's leading scorers was Hancock County resident Josiah Godbey), but there was lots of Hancock County basketball, too, tonight, so let's get to it:

Eastern Hancock kept rolling tonight, as the Royals posted a BIG win over Alexandria by an 84-50 score. The Royals are now 14-3, are undefeated against 1A and 2A teams, are literally three seconds away from being 16-1 and STILL aren't getting any love in the AP 2A poll. Dustin Smith had 23 points tonight for the Royals.

Greenfield-Central was knocked from the HHC lead by 3A No. 6 Rushville 47-27 tonight. The Cougars are now 6-10 and 4-2 in the HHC with one conference game remaining Saturday night against Delta. Rushville clinched a piece of the HHC title, which the Lions will share with Pendleton Heights. Both teams finish the year 6-1 in league play.

New Palestine dropped a 13-point decision at Westfield tonight. The Dragons are now 8-7 heading into a busy final few weeks.

Mt. Vernon plays Wednesday against Warren Central.

Friday night, the New Palestine Dragons host the Mt. Vernon Marauders in a late-season HHC rivalry game. Chris Lambert & Andrew Smith will have the call starting at 7:10 p.m. Then, join us Saturday morning as the Mt. Vernon Marauders face the Lebanon Tigers in the opening round of the IHSAA girls basketball regional from MV. We plan to be on at approximately 11:20 a.m.

At 160 pounds, McGinley (36-6) will face semistate champ Conner Lefever (40-0) of Carroll (Allen) in the opening round. Winner meets either Glenn's Cody Strange (39-8) or Tyler Rickenbaugh of Heritage Hills (47-4). The 160-pound bracket features *four* undefeated wrestlers, all semistate champs.

Two Cougars going to state

Two Greenfield-Central wrestlers are headed to the State Finals next week.

119-pounder Josh Farrell moves on as the runner-up from today's New Castle semistate. Farrell, a sophomore, is making his second straight trip to Conseco Fieldhouse. At 37-3, Farrell was the runner-up to unbeaten Brenden Campbell of New Castle tonight.

At 160, Dezmen McGinley is moving on after finishing fourth at New Castle today. McGinley is 36-6.

They will both compete in the first round of the State Finals -- each bracket featuring 16 wrestlers -- starting Friday. Jan. 18.

Congrats, Marauders

Mt. Vernon outscores Hamilton Heights 25-9 in the fourth quarter to post a 77-69 victory over the Huskies.

MV trailed for much of the middle two quarters before a 3 from Jessica Brown and a back-to-back baskets by Erica Moore put MV up 71-69. Brown then hit six free throws in the final 90 seconds to seal the outcome.

Moore had 19 points, Brown had 17 -- including 13 after halftime -- Rachel Houck 15 and Kayla Negley 14 points. Hamilton Heights was led by Diane Silberberg's 21 points, while the Marauders held HH's Div. I duo of Jessica Carr and Libby Ogden to 14 and 10 points, respectively.

The Marauders, now 20-1, move on to regional play next Saturday at home.

MV will play Lebanon (20-3) in the 11:30 semifinal. Chris Lambert & Andrew Smith will be with you 20 minutes before tipoff for LIVE play-by-play.

It's official: Dragons to 4A

The IHSAA released official class announcements today, and there were no surprises for Hancock County schools.

As expected, New Palestine will move up to Class 4A in basketball/baseball/softball/volleyball. NPHS has 1,092 students and is the 100th-largest school in Indiana. It will be the second-smallest 4A school -- Roncalli will also move up. Mt. Vernon, with 1,077 students, will be the second-largest in Class 3A. NP was above the cutoff by five students.

Greenfield-Central (enrollment 1,410) is comfortably in 4A, ranking 72nd overall. Eastern Hancock (enrollment 355) remains in 2A, ranking 291st overall and 14 spots (and 36 students) ahead of the cutoff line.

Among HHC schools, Shelbyville will move back into 4A after a four-year stay in 3A. Delta, Rushville and Yorktown will remain 3A, while Pendleton Heights will remain 4A.

NP had been a 3A school ever since class sports were introduced in 1997-98. MV and EH have never changed classes. G-C started out as a 3A school, but moved up to 4A in 2003-04 and has remained there ever since.

In football, all three of the larger county schools will remain in Class 4A. G-C is the 10th-largest school in the class. EH will remain in Class A. None of the other HHC schools will change classes, although Delta is 4A's second-smallest school.

G-C has been a 4A school since the five-class system was created in 1985. NP and MV both moved up from Class 3A in 2007. EH has been a 1A school with the exception of a brief stay in 2A from 1995-98.

Boys and girls soccer will be classified for the first time next year. The three soccer-playing county schools will be in the largest of two classes. EH does not field a soccer program. The cutoff was between Yorktown (enrollment 755) and Hamilton Heights (enrollment 742). All HHC schools will be in 2A.

Taylor Fee improved to 33-6 at 112, Gordon Wagner moved on at 125 (29-9) and Robbie Elsea advanced at 130 (34-7). All will have to win two matches -- one against a regional runner-up, one against a regional champ -- to advance out of the semistate next week.

Weather report

New Palestine, Greenfield-Central and Eastern Hancock Schools have already canceled classes for Friday, which means that all Hancock County boys basketball games for Friday night will be postponed.

Initially on the docket were NP @ Shelbyville, Delta @ G-C and Tri @ EH.

Therefore, we will not have a broadcast Friday night. Keep posted to HancockCountySports.com for a potential additional replacement broadcast later in February.

More closings/weather-affected games

All four Hancock County schools had season finale girls basketball games scheduled Thursday.

All four will likely be canceled after school was called in all four districts for Thursday. It would affect New Palestine @ Plainfield, Shenandoah @ Mt. Vernon, Triton Central @ Eastern Hancock and Greenfield-Central @ Greenwood.

Everything is on for Friday as of now, although our broadcast time will shift briefly. We will still broadcast New Palestine vs. Shelbyville boys, but will probably go on the air at approximately 7:30 p.m. instead of the previously-advertised 7:10 p.m., as Shelby's girls team will play Franklin at 6 p.m. prior to the tipoff of the boys game. We will go on when the girls game ends.

Also Friday, Greenfield-Central hosts Delta and Eastern Hancock hosts Tri. Mt. Vernon is off until Saturday, when it will face Warren Central on the road. NP (at Mooresville) and G-C (vs. Greenwood) also have Saturday's games.

Listen to the NP-Shelby game here, 7:30 p.m. Friday

School's out

... throughout the county (and region) today, and closings are starting to roll in for Wednesday.

Needless to say, all athletic events for the next couple of days will be cancelled/postponed.

Enrollment numbers out

The IHSAA has released its enrollment numbers, and there will be some interesting changes ahead.

First of all, it appears New Palestine will move up to Class 4A in basketball/volleyball/baseball/softball, while Greenfield-Central will remain 4A. Mt. Vernon, which has a reported enrollment of 15 fewer students than NP, will remain in Class 3A and be the largest school.

These are all unofficial right now. The IHSAA released enrollments for 409 schools, which would indicate 102 schools in Classes 4A, 3A and 2A and 103 in Class A. NP ranks 100th on the state's enrollment list with 1092 students. MV ranks 103rd with 1077. G-C is the largest county school with 1410 students, and is 72nd in enrollment.

Eastern Hancock will remain one of the smallest schools in Class 2A. With 355 students, EH ranks 291st, and would be 15 spots (and 39 students) ahead of the 1A/2A cutoff.

In football, the three larger county schools will remain in Class 4A, with G-C inching closer to the top, but all three would comfortably be in 4A for the next cycle. EH appears to be staying in Class A.

Among HHC schools, Shelbyville will jump back into Class 4A in bb/vb/baseball/softball after one cycle in Class 3A. Delta, Yorktown and Rushville will remain 3A, while Pendleton Heights will remain 4A ... essentially meaning Shelby & NP will move up, putting half the league in 4A and half in 3A.

In football, Delta will be the second-smallest Class 4A school, but all HHC schools will remain in the same classes where they currently compete -- with Rushville and Yorktown in 3A and the rest of the league in 4A.
