Girls soccer
Mt. Vernon 8, Muncie Central 0: MV led 3-0 at halftime and poured it on in the second half. Brittany Sanders scored MV's first two goals of the second half and Kristina Voltz had two goals and an assist on Suzy DeWael's game-winner early in the first half. Chelsea Thomas scored and assisted on both of Sanders' goals. DeWael also had two assists in addition to her goal. Halie Whitaker added a first-half goal, while Jordan Slusher had an assist.
Olivia Coleman and Whitney Estes combined on the shutout in net, making seven saves.
MV is now 1-0-1.
