Tuesday night boys hoops

The final week of the regular season elicits some Tuesday night games

First off, the marquee game of the night:
Morristown (9-9) at Eastern Hancock (15-3): It's senior night for one of the winningest classes in EH history. Dustin Smith, Zach Kissick, Steven Stunda and Austin Lee are four senior starters who have put up some huge numbers and win totals. They were part of a sectional championship team as freshmen, and are the favorites to do so as seniors, but their last home game will see another star in Morristown's Dylan Langkabel. Should be a great matchup.

Connersville (7-14) at Greenfield-Central (8-10): Fresh off an overtime victory over Delta that sealed third place in the HHC for the Cougars, they host senior night for Jordan Conley, Josh Mayes and Nathan Weir. A victory would give G-C its best season since going 15-6 in 2003-04, a very talented squad featuring Mark and Paul Galbraith, Josiah Sears, Ryan Grinstead and Keegan Carmony, and one that nearly knocked off eventual 3A champion Chatard in the sectional. Connersville will be a tough out, with Zach Miller leading the way. The two teams compete in the same sectional. Our friends at WIFE will be providing a live broadcast.

Westfield (7-11) at Mt. Vernon (5-13): The Marauders have another tough tune-up, but are fresh off a conference victory over New Palestine last week, thanks to a 27-point night from senior guard Quinn Williams. Westfield has dropped three of four, but the one win in that stretch was against HHC team New Palestine.

New Palestine (8-9) at Shelbyville (12-6): This game was supposed to be played Feb. 4, but weather postponed it to this week. It's the final conference game for both teams before heading up U.S. 52 to NP next week for the sectional. Both teams have been up and down this season, and both of these teams' meetings last year were decided on last-second shots. When they play, it'll be an up-and-down game. Shelby has won eight of its last 10, but the two losses were to HHC teams Greenfield-Central and Delta. The Dragons won't have much time to rest -- on Wednesday, they play another make-up game at Mooresville (10-8) on Wednesday night. You can listen to the NP-Shelby game on WSVX.
