Cougars win, school out today

Greenfield-Central rallied in the fourth quarter to beat Knightstown 38-37 Thursday night in the Cougars' regular-season finale.

G-C trailed 13-2 after a quarter and 24-16 going into the fourth before catching fire. Josh Mayes scored 12 points and Derek Conley 10 for the Cougars, who finish the regular season with a 9-11 mark -- their best in seven years.

The Cougars open sectional play Wednesday against Pendleton Heights (16-5) in the 4A New Castle sectional.

Tonight's games are likely postponed, as all four Hancock County school corporations are out of school today.

However, because the Mt. Vernon-Yorktown game is a conference game, there is still a chance it will be played. MV's administration is currently in the process of making that decision. If the game is on, we will have a broadcast.
