Several local student-athletes competed at the IHSAA swimming State Finals prelims tonight at the IUPUI Natatorium.
New Palestine's Emily Trimpe placed 25th in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:09.21 and 26th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.02 seconds.
NP's 200 free relay team of Trimpe, Katie Prosser, Jordan Rogers and Karen Emminger finished 28th with a time of 1:43.16.
Mt. Vernon diver Lauren Reifel will compete in the diving prelims early Saturday.
