Mt. Vernon's girls basketball team had a resounding 64-24 victory over Yorktown at home Saturday afternoon.
The Marauders led 20-3 after a quarter, 39-5 at the half and 51-11 after three quarters of the victory.
MV was led by Jessica Brown's 18 points. Makenzi Reasor and Rachel Houck added 12 each for the Marauders. Anna Olson scored eight. Mikaela Whitinger led the Tigers with seven points.
Brown is now five points away from reaching the 1,000-point mark for her career.
MV is now 6-2 and is 3-0 in Hoosier Heritage Conference play -- the lone unbeaten remaining in the HHC standings. Yorktown is 3-4 and 0-2 in HHC play. The Marauders next play Thursday at New Palestine. You can listen to the game LIVE at HancockCountySports.com!
