Marauders to face Roncalli at 6 p.m.

Mt. Vernon fell victim to an early run and fell 62-41 to the 4A No. 2 Penn Kingsmen in the second semifinal at the Hall of Fame Classic.

The unbeaten Kingsmen scored the game's first 17 points and led 25-2 after a quarter. MV rallied in the fourth quarter to close the score, outscoring the Kingsmen 22-13 in the final eight minutes.

Erica Moore had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, as well as two blocked shots for MV. Jessica Brown had nine points and six assists. Rachel Houck hit three 3-pointers and scored a team-high 13 points. She also had four steals.

Western Michigan commit Alex Morton had 15 points to lead Penn. Olivia Carlton scored 14 points and hit three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter. Sophomore Caroline Buhr had 12 points and six rebounds.

MV will face Roncalli in the 6 p.m. consolation game at the New Castle Fieldhouse tonight. Live coverage will begin on HancockCountySports.com at 5:45 p.m. Penn will face 3A No. 1 Norwell in the title game, as Norwell rallied to beat Roncalli 62-59 in the first semifinal.
