Thursday roundup: MV baseball moves on

Mt. Vernon's baseball team beat host Shelbyville 11-1 in Thursday's resumption of their sectional opener. The game had started Wednesday and was postponed with MV leading 1-0 in the fourth. The Marauders then poured it on from there. MV will face Rushville in Monday's second semifinal at approximately 12:30 p.m. NP will meet Hamilton Heights in the opening game at 10 a.m. at Shelbyville.

New Palestine was to play for a softball sectional title today against Hamilton Heights. However, wet field conditions caused the game to be postponed to 10 a.m. Saturday morning. The game will be played at HH.

Eastern Hancock's softball sectional semifinal game at Shenandoah was postponed again. It will be played Friday at approximately 6:30 p.m. The sectional title game is set for 3 p.m. Saturday. EH, the defending sectional champ, will face Cambridge City Lincoln.
