NP wins softball sectional, EH to play for one

New Palestine won the Hamilton Heights softball sectional Saturday morning, beating the host team 10-3. It was the Dragons' fourth straight sectional title.

NP will play in the regional Tuesday night at the winner of the Batesville sectional, whose semis and finals are being played today.

Eastern Hancock is also playing for its second consecutive sectional title today at 3 p.m. at Shenandoah. The Royals will face either Centerville or Union County, who are playing this morning. EH beat Cambridge City Lincoln 5-1 Friday night.

Eastern Hancock fell to Hagerstown by a 7-3 score in the opening round of the baseball sectional. Greenfield-Central (vs. Pendleton Heights @PH), New Palestine (vs. Hamilton Heights @Shelby) and Mt. Vernon (vs. Rushville @Shelby) will all play their semifinal games Monday morning.
