G-C wins HHC wrestling title

Greenfield-Central won the Hoosier Heritage Conference wrestling title Saturday, totaling 268.5 points to lap the field.

New Palestine (217) was second, four points ahead of Yorktown. Mt. Vernon finished eighth (23).

G-C's dominated the upper weights to win the title -- Austin Rose (152), Dezmen McGinley (170), Kyle Wilburn (182), Ian Early (195), Austin Gearlds (220) and Tyler Beeson (285) all won individual HHC championships. Early and Gearlds won by fall, the others were by decision.

In addition, G-C's Taylor Wright (106), Cody Cecil (132) and Josh Farrell (138) were all runners-up. No Cougar placed lower than fourth.

NP's winner was Tommy Cash (106) by fall over Wright. Taylor Fee (113) placed second, as did Gordon Wagner (126), Nick Ulrey (145), Connor Robinson (160), Brian Wagner (170) and Willie Bryan (285).
