Doud on Silver Anniversary team

Mt. Vernon graduate and current Pendleton Heights coach Shari Doud was recently named to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame's Silver Anniversary team.

Doud -- whose maiden name is Shari Clark -- was a standout guard for Tom Earlywine at MV and graduated in 1987. Her team won a sectional her sophomore year and played in the Hall of Fame Classic as a senior. She then played collegiately at Drake University before finishing her degree at St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer.

Doud has served as an assistant coach at Mt. Vernon with head coach Diana Myers, then took over the Greenfield-Central program in 2000. She led the Cougars to a 13-8 record and then took over the program at Pendleton Heights, where her team has won three consecutive sectionals and a regional in 2009. She has a career coaching record of 193-82 and has coached several standout players, including Ellen Hamilton at G-C and Susan Lester, Hannah Douglas and Mur Hagerman at Pendleton Heights.

The Silver Anniversary team is named each year by the Hall of Fame and honors players who graduated from high school 25 years before.

They will be recognized at a banquet April 28 at Primo Banquet Hall in Indianapolis.
