Girls BB roundup

Mt. Vernon 56, Rushville 33: This was one of the most anticipated games of the week, and the Marauders didn't disappoint, beating the defending state runner-up by 23 points. MV is now 3-0 on the year and has put together two 20-plus point victories over solid competition. Next Saturday, we will broadcast MV's (3-0) next home game against Hamilton Heights at 2:10 p.m.

Warren Central 59, New Palestine 56: The Dragons led Warren for much of the game and put quite a scare into Class 4A's eighth-ranked team, but the Warriors rallied in the fourth to win a game that was close throughout. Danielle Owens led the Dragons with a career-high 17 points, while Bethany Murrell added 14. The Dragons (1-2) visit Westfield Tuesday.

Pendleton Heights 63, Greenfield-Central 39: The Arabians had a solid debut and backed it up with another impressive victory over the Cougars. G-C is now 2-2 and next plays a day game Nov. 27 against Marion.
