Mt. Vernon downed Connersville 67-42. The Marauders are next in action Tuesday against Lawrence Central.

New Palestine opens tonight against Whiteland (1-0) at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Hancock -- which fell to Elwood 60-32 on Wednesday -- hosts Muncie South at 2:30 p.m. today.

Of course, you can catch all of the local sports action in-depth in the Daily Reporter.

We also take a look at the HHC football games on Saturday, and the final HHC team was in action in the regional, and Pendleton Heights gave Cathedral all it could handle early. The Arabians matched the Irish score-for-score in the first half, but Cathedral pulled away with 21 consecutive second-half points to beat PH 56-24. Congrats to John Broughton and the Arabians for a great season and representing the conference well in the regional.

Game recaps from the Indianapolis Star & Anderson Herald-Bulletin.
