At Hamilton Heights (3A)
Dragons beat host Huskies: New Palestine won three tight games to oust Hamilton Heights 25-22, 25-21, 25-23 from the Huskies' own sectional. In an all-HHC semifinal round, NP advances to face Rushville in Saturday's second semifinal. Defending champion Mt. Vernon will meet Shelbyville in Saturday's 11 a.m. semifinal. The championship match will be at 7 p.m. at Hamilton Heights.
At Knightstown (2A)
Royals fall to Cambridge City Lincoln: EH dropped a tight five-game match to CCL, falling 24-26, 25-21, 30-32, 25-20, 15-13 to the Golden Eagles. CCL moves on to face Shenandoah in Saturday's second semifinal. The first match will pit Knightstown against Union County.
Looking ahead
We're down to four fall sports still active -- football, volleyball and boys/girls CC. We'll have a full roundup of tonight's football games online Friday, and then volleyball and cross country by Saturday night.
