Welcome to a new season

... and it's going to be an exciting one on CCSN and HancockCountySports.com.

We are going to carry out the vision of our late founder, Tim Adams, to have growth in our coverage of Hancock County sports -- in addition to football. You'll notice on our broadcast page that we are adding a menu of soccer games to our broadcast docket this year. You'll also notice that we'll be using this blog more to cover games and report results that are given to us.

We'll continue to review and preview the week's football games in Hancock County and the HHC.

Keep us bookmarked. We are excited for another year of bring high school sports to you!

Results from this week

Boys soccer: Mt. Vernon 4, Rushville 0 (Tuesday)
MV scored four second-half goals to win its opener and move to 1-0 in the HHC. Nathan Livengood had the shutout in goal for MV. Alex Sayre, Mouhamed Konate, Eric Ahonen and Ben Hawkins all scored goals, with Caleb Young and Kyle Cansler adding assists.
Tennis: New Palestine 3, Whiteland 2 (Tuesday)
The Dragons got big victories from their doubles teams -- including the No. 1 doubles of Reid and Brian Clark -- and No. 3 singles player Stratton Smith in the victory over Whiteland.
Girls soccer: New Palestine 2, Perry Meridian 2 (Monday)
The Dragons fell behind 2-0 very quickly, but rallied to tie a solid Perry team in the season opener. Lauren Kehrt had a goal and an assist for NP. Lauren Joray scored the Dragons' other g
