Marauders play in regional final

Anna Olson had a double-double with 10 points and 15 boards, leading four Marauders in double-figures as Mt. Vernon routed Lebanon 64-44 in the 3A Lebanon regional semifinal Saturday morning.

The Marauders advance to face Edgewood in the regional final at 8 p.m. tonight. Listen to the live HancockCountySports.com broadcast beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Rachel Houck led MV in scoring with 18 points. Makenzi Reasor added 12, Jessica Brown had 11 and Erica Moore eight. Kelsie Owens also had six rebounds and seven assists for the Marauders.

MV jumped out to an 11-1 lead and held Lebanon without a field goal for the first 7:50 of the game. The Marauders never trailed, building a lead as high as 57-28 after three.

Edgewood pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat Tri-West 53-47 in the second game.Hannah Rommel (13 points), Angela Hacker (11 points/5 rebounds) and Vanessa Brown (7 points/10 rebounds/4 steals) led Edgewood (20-5).

SATURDAY: Mt. Vernon GIRLS in regional, 9:30 a.m. and (if necessary), 6:30 p.m.
The #2 Marauders face Lebanon in the opening round of the Lebanon regional. Should MV (20-5) win, the Marauders will face either #8 Edgewood or Tri-West in the title game.
TUESDAY: Eastern Hancock at Morristown BOYS, 7:10 p.m.
