The New Palestine girls basketball team jumped out to a fast start
and pulled away to a 57-45 victory over Indian Creek in the semifinals
of the Franklin tournament.
NP will play Franklin -- a 60-39 winner over West Vigo -- at 8 p.m. tonight in the championship game.
Bethany Murrell had a hot start for the Dragons, hitting four first-half 3-pointers en route to a 23-point, eight-rebound day.
NP was off to a hot start in general, shooting over 50 percent for much of the first half and hitting six 3-pointers.

Curry added 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting, and she added an exclamation
point to the opening half with a long 3-pointer at the buzzer, which
gave the Dragons a 42-21 lead. Lauren Tieman added 10 points and eight
rebounds. Abby Seifert nearly had a double-double without scoring a
point -- she had 12 rebounds and a career-high eight assists. Kyleigh
Smock & Tori Stephenson each scored five points for the Dragons.
Ally Lehman led IC with 25 points and 14 rebounds.
