Greenfield-Central's Matt Dickerson ran a 15.25 time in the 110 high hurdles prelims, finishing 17th. The top nine moved on to the finals. The state championship time was 13.85 by Zionsville's Shane Mikesky.
Dickerson also finished 25th in the 300 intermediate hurdles, with a time of 40.91 seconds. The champ's time was 38.24 by East Noble's Nathan Mueller.
Chris Sosnowski was 17th in the discus with a throw of 152 feet. Bloomington South's Gabe Hull won the title with a throw of 200 feet, 5 inches.
On Saturday night, New Palestine athletes will compete in eight events in the girls State Finals. Also, we will have for you the Mt. Vernon baseball regional game vs. Crawfordsville at 11 a.m. We will also be giving you updates from the New Palestine-Gibson Southern semistate softball game going on at the same time from Jasper.

Tuesday roundup & tonight

In softball, New Palestine scored four runs in each the fifth and sixth innings to break open an 11-1 six-inning victory over Rushville. Audrey East drove in five runs for the Dragons, including a three-run homer in the fifth that broke the game open. Lizzie Garrison pitched 5 1/3 innings to get the pitching victory. NP (10-4, 2-1 HHC) has now won five straight games heading into Thursday's home match against Greenfield-Central.
In tennis, Greenfield-Central beat Shelbyville 3-2. Winners for G-C were Taylor Titus at No. 3 singles (6-3, 6-3), Kyla Leary/Lauren Brand at No. 1 doubles (6-1, 6-2) and Kayla Good/Emma Morgan at No. 2 doubles (6-4, 6-1).
